Indonesia police rotate 424 senior and mid-ranking officers, including two provincial chiefs

Indonesia's National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo has rotated 424 senior and mid-ranking officers, reshaping several strategic posts at police headquarters and in the provinces.

The changes appeared in three police chief telegrams issued on Aug. 30, 2026. Police public information division head Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir described the move as part of organizational development and career management. He said new assignments considered institutional needs, officers' competence and experience, and the challenges of their duties.

A total of 344 personnel received promotions or new assignments. Others completed or began education programs, or entered retirement. Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie, formerly North Sulawesi police chief, became the police chief's chief operations assistant. He replaced Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran, who moved to a senior position at the operations staff as part of his retirement process.

Brigadier General Yudo Hermanto became North Sulawesi police chief after serving as head of the internal security bureau in the professional and security division. In West Papua, Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi moved from deputy police chief of Riau to provincial police chief, replacing Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru. Latuheru received a new assignment as a senior police instructor at the police education and training institute.

The changes also placed Brigadier General Simson Zet Ringu as Riau's deputy police chief and Commissioner Dedy Suhartono as deputy police chief of Gorontalo. Brigadier General D.I. Susetio Cahyadi became deputy police chief of North Maluku. At headquarters, Inspector General Jawari became assistant police chief for human resources, while Inspector General Ruslan Ependi took over as coordinator of the police chief's expert staff. Their predecessors were reassigned to senior posts connected with retirement.
