Indonesian Army clarifies marathon incident involving commander's aide

The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) has clarified a viral incident at a marathon in Sleman, Yogyakarta, involving the aide of Korem 072/Pamungkas Commander Brigjen Yuniar Dwi Hantono. The situation arose when the aide reportedly entered the race track without a participant identification number (BIB), leading to a confrontation with a course marshal. Video footage showed Brigjen Hantono reacting as his aide was being addressed by the marshal.

Based on the explanation obtained, the aide accompanying the Danrem also participated in the activity from the beginning using a participant number (BIB).

Brigjen TNI Donny Pramono, Head of Information for the Army (Kadispenad), explained that the event was a misunderstanding on the field. He stated that Hantono, his wife, child, and aide were participating as registered guests using four general tickets. According to the explanation received, the aide had been participating from the start with a BIB.

All parties understood that the incident was purely a technical issue on the field and has been resolved well.

However, during the race, the aide's BIB allegedly detached on a crowded section of the track, causing the confusion when officials checked for identification. Pramono confirmed that communication and clarification have since occurred between the event organizers and Brigjen Hantono. Both parties understood the incident as a purely technical issue that has been resolved amicably. The Army appreciated the professionalism of the committee and officials and urged the public to view the event proportionally, without unrelated speculation.
