Indonesian Artist Ruben Onsu Named Suspect in Fraud Case

South Jakarta Metro Police have named Indonesian artist Ruben Onsu a suspect in a case of alleged fraud and embezzlement. The decision followed a case review conducted by investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police's Criminal Investigation Unit.

A few days ago, a case review was conducted, and the participants agreed to change the status of the reported party, brother RSO, to a suspect. Then a suspect designation letter was issued.

According to AKP Joko Adi Wibowo, Head of Public Relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, the case originated from a police report filed on August 22, 2025, by an individual with the initials P. The victim in this case is identified as DM. Ruben Onsu is accused of offering the victim an investment opportunity with promised returns.

Then the victim was interested in carrying out the agreement between the victim and the reported party. Then an agreement was made with the victim to hand over a certain amount of capital, with the promised profit.

The victim reportedly agreed to the terms, providing a sum of capital with the expectation of receiving the promised profits. However, when the agreed-upon time for returns arrived, the victim claimed neither the profits nor the initial capital were returned. This failure to fulfill the agreement led to the victim reporting the incident to the South Jakarta Police.

When the time for the agreement came, it turned out that the profit had not been obtained and the capital had not been returned either. Regarding that, the victim reported this incident to the South Jakarta Police.

Investigators are preparing to summon Onsu for questioning in his capacity as a suspect. While the exact date for the examination has not yet been set, it is anticipated to occur next week. As of the report, there has been no statement from Ruben Onsu's legal team regarding the case.
