Indonesian Police Chief Appoints Six Regional Chiefs and Traffic Corps Head

Jakarta, Indonesia – The Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has officially inaugurated six new regional police chiefs (Kapolda) and the Chief of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri). The formal handover and assumption of duties ceremony occurred at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Saturday.

Among the key changes, Inspector General Ruddi Setiawan replaces Irjen Marzuki Ali Basyah as the Kapolda of Aceh. Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy is now the Kapolda of North Kalimantan, succeeding Komjen Gatot Tri Suryanta, who was previously Kapolda of West Sumatra. Inspector General Pipit Rismanto takes over as Kapolda of West Java, moving from his previous role as Kapolda of West Kalimantan. Inspector General Alberd Teddy Benhard Sianipar fills the West Kalimantan Kapolda position.

Inspector General Agus Wijayanto assumes the role of Kapolda of North Kalimantan, previously held by Irjen Djati Wiyoto Abadhy. Additionally, Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru is the new Kapolda of Southwest Papua, replacing Brigjen Gatot Haribowo. Inspector General Wibowo has been appointed as the new Kakorlantas Polri, succeeding Irjen Agus Suryonugroho.

Kadiv Humas Polri Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir stated that these appointments are integral to the organization's dynamics. He explained that the reshuffling ensures leadership continuity and enhances the quality of police services to the public. "These appointments are part of career development, leadership regeneration, and organizational refreshment," Isir said in a written statement. "This is a strategic step to make the National Police organization more adaptive, professional, and capable of meeting evolving operational challenges."
