Indonesian Prosecutors Investigate Ex-Official in Gold, Cash Laundering Case

A special investigative team from Indonesia's Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has interrogated seven witnesses as part of its probe into alleged money laundering involving former special crimes prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah. The case centers on the discovery of 74 kilograms of gold and Rp543 billion in cash. According to Anang Supriatna, Head of the Legal Information Center at Kejagung, the seven witnesses included three private individuals identified as WF, BM, and H, alongside four police investigators. Supriatna stated that the investigative team is continuing its in-depth examination to strengthen the evidence in the alleged money laundering case, with no other legal actions taken at this time. Previously, Kejagung designated Adriansyah, the former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, as a suspect in the money laundering case linked to the gold and cash found at a residence in Sentul. Rudi Margono, head of the special investigative team, indicated that Adriansyah allegedly committed these acts while serving as a prosecutor or structural official within Kejagung. In addition to the money laundering allegations, Adriansyah is implicated in three other corruption cases within the Attorney General's Office. These include alleged corruption related to PT Krakatau Steel, corruption in the procurement of coal for PLN power plants that resulted in a blackout, and a corruption case involving PT ASABRI, in which Adriansyah has also been named a suspect alongside a private party, Don Ritto.
