Industry Newspaper announces chair for impact companies awards

The Industry Newspaper has appointed Yomi Otubela, a prominent entrepreneur and educationist, to chair its 2026 Companies of Impact project. This annual initiative celebrates Nigerian businesses that significantly contribute to the nation's economic growth and development.

The 2026 edition, themed ‘Building Resilience, Driving Growth: Nigerian Companies Shaping the Next Decade,’ will specifically honor companies demonstrating excellence in resilience, innovation, and job creation across various economic sectors. The project culminates in an awards and networking luncheon set for August 21, 2026, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Otubela, who also leads the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools and founded Lagooz Schools, brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship and education. His leadership at Lagooz Schools has emphasized curriculum development, technology integration, and talent cultivation. He is also a vocal advocate for increased private-sector involvement in education and supportive policies for businesses and human-capital development.

As chairman, Otubela will guide the selection process, deliver the keynote address, and lead discussions on how Nigerian companies can enhance their economic and social impact through innovation, strong governance, and responsible business practices.
