Inheritance Dispute Ends in Shooting in Esenyurt

A family dispute over inheritance escalated into violence in Istanbul's Esenyurt district on Saturday night, leaving one man seriously injured. The incident occurred around 9:10 PM near the Özyurtlar Mosque on Abdi İpekçi Street in Namık Kemal Mahallesi.

Police were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Hasan Ö., 45, suffering from gunshot wounds to his jaw and leg. He received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital for further treatment.

Witnesses reportedly intervened and disarmed the suspect, handing the firearm over to the police. During the initial police investigation at the scene, relatives of the injured man were interviewed. According to their accounts, the shooting stemmed from a disagreement over inheritance.

Authorities have identified the alleged assailant as Tarık Ö., a relative of the victim. It is believed that Tarık Ö. fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Police are actively conducting an investigation to apprehend the suspect and fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
