Integrity Commission catches Nineveh education accountant over salaries paid to a "ghost" employee

Iraq's Federal Integrity Commission said it caught an accountant in one of the departments of the Nineveh General Directorate of Education after he allegedly arranged payment of a salary to a "ghost" employee.

The commission said the accountant took the money for his own benefit over a period of nearly six years. The case concerns a fictitious employee whose salary continued to be paid, according to the statement.
