International messages hail Cuba's resistance on National Rebellion Day

International leaders and solidarity groups have sent messages of admiration and respect to Cuba, commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the Moncada Barracks attack, a pivotal event in the Cuban Revolution. Vietnam's Communist Party General Secretary and President To Lam conveyed congratulations to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, while Prime Minister Le Minh Hung sent felicitations to his Cuban counterpart Manuel Marrero Cruz. The President of Vietnam's National Assembly, Tran Thanh Man, also extended greetings to Esteban Lazo Hernández, head of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power.

Nicaragua's government, led by copresidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, lauded Cuba's "heroic and extraordinary" people, emphasizing their historical resistance with the phrase "It neither sells nor surrenders, ever." The message underscored Fidel Castro's enduring inspiration. Nicaragua's National Assembly held a special session honoring the Moncada heroes, including floral tributes and a march to the Parliament building.

In Mexico, thousands marched in solidarity with Cuba, protesting perceived U.S. aggression and threats. Jaime García of the Collective Militant Solidarity Va Por Cuba stressed the urgency of "solidarity mobilization of all brother peoples" to defend Cuban sovereignty and the right to self-determination. Similarly, in Chile, Cubans and Chileans gathered in Valparaíso, where Cuba's ambassador to Chile, Oscar Cornelio Oliva, denounced what he called the "multidimensional aggression" of the United States against the island nation.

Italy also saw solidarity events, with various associations and political movements celebrating the National Rebellion Day. A march from Piazza Santa Prisca to the Cuban Embassy in Rome was among the highlights. These international expressions of support underscore Cuba's continued significance in global political discourse and its enduring revolutionary symbolism.
