International Ranking Crowns Cadi Ayyad University

Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech has achieved a significant milestone, topping the national and Maghreb rankings for Moroccan universities in the 2026 "Webometrics" edition. The university also secured a place within the top 30 African institutions and ranked 1420th globally among more than 32,000 universities assessed.

The "Webometrics" ranking evaluates higher education institutions based on their online presence, the public accessibility of their academic output, and the impact of their research and scientific publications. Cadi Ayyad University attributes this success to its dedicated efforts in fostering academic and scientific excellence, expanding access to its digital resources, and reinforcing the visibility of its knowledge production on both national and international stages.

This latest recognition adds to the university's growing list of international accolades in 2026. It previously ranked first nationally in the "UniRank" assessment and second nationally in the "CWUR" ranking, placing it within the top 5.3 percent of global universities. Furthermore, it secured the second national position in the "QS Sustainability Rankings," which assesses universities' performance in sustainability initiatives. The university stated that these results reflect the commitment of its various components in executing its strategic orientations and adapting to the evolving landscape of higher education, scientific research, and sustainable development.
