Iran Accuses French Diplomats of Illegal Entry, Foreign Interference Plot

Iran's Ministry of Intelligence has accused two French diplomats of illegally entering a secret meeting location, escalating tensions between the two nations. The ministry stated that during an operation concerning "infiltration and foreign interference," intelligence agents discovered the French diplomats present without authorization at a clandestine gathering. The ministry further alleged that these diplomats had a history of violating Iranian laws and diplomatic commitments. After verifying their identities, the matter was reportedly escalated to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the diplomats were handed over to the French ambassador in the presence of diplomatic police. Preliminary investigations, according to the Iranian ministry, suggest a large-scale project aimed at infiltration, foreign interference, and paving the way for French actions against Iran's independence. This alleged project reportedly involved identifying individuals, establishing secret contacts, and building networks. The ministry pointed to the signature of the former French ambassador on discovered contracts as evidence, holding the French government responsible for "illegal and interventionist actions" and demanding clarification on this "naively conceived plan."
