Maritime traffic through the vital Strait of Hormuz is moving exceptionally slowly due to the latest wave of attacks. The UK's Maritime Trade Operations center reported that the tanker was hit off the coast of Oman, forcing its crew to abandon ship. Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility for this attack, as well as two others on the waterway yesterday. Tehran has also targeted US allied nations across the Middle East, with Kuwait and Jordan reporting attacks.

U.S. Secretary of State Marko Rubio stated on Sunday that the US remains open to negotiations with Iran, but they "must be serious." He added, "If the door to diplomacy opens - if those who want to do something productive for Iran win and take control of that system, or take control of the negotiations - that will be a very positive development.
