Iran launches projectiles toward Israel; military reports all intercepted

The Israeli military reported that Iran launched projectiles toward Israeli territory, an apparent retaliation for a recent Israeli airstrike on Beirut. Israeli defense systems successfully intercepted all incoming projectiles, according to the military.

Iranian media indicated that approximately four projectiles were fired in an initial wave, targeting the northern part of Israel. The Israeli military confirmed detecting further launches toward its territory while its air force worked to intercept them.

Following the incident, the Israeli military issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that the country had "committed a grave mistake" by "choosing terrorism again." Israel refuted Iran's linkage of the attack to the Israeli bombing of Dahiye in Beirut, asserting that the Beirut strike was in response to continuous Hezbollah fire on northern settlements. The military vowed to "continue operating in all of Lebanon."

Regarding a potential Israeli response, the General Staff is reportedly evaluating the situation and will approve a future plan. This comes after reports that U.S. President Donald Trump had urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack Iran to facilitate a deal.

The Israeli military's Home Front Command issued alerts to mobile phones in affected areas, urging residents to take responsibility and follow instructions to enter protected zones until further notice. The military emphasized that evacuation from these zones would only occur upon explicit instruction.
