Iran Makes New Strait of Hormuz Demands

Iran has presented new conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, stating it will not open until the United States "corrects its behavior." These demands, published by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, could significantly impact ongoing negotiations regarding the vital waterway.

Furthermore, Iran insists the US must "completely compensate" for war damages, lift sanctions, and "unconditionally" release frozen assets.

However, he emphasized that the waterway's reopening is contingent on other conditions, blaming the current situation on alleged US violations of the interim deal. Oman confirmed that discussions are ongoing in a "positive and constructive atmosphere" and condemned recent attacks on ships in the strait.
