Iran will honor nuclear deal if U.S. does, President Raisi says

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has issued a clear condition for his country's adherence to the nuclear deal: reciprocal action from the United States. "If the U.S. side adheres to the agreement, we will also fulfill our promises," Raisi stated on Sunday, emphasizing that "mutual understanding is not a one-way street." His remarks, made via social media platform X, serve as a direct warning to the U.S. administration, though he did not explicitly name President Donald Trump. Raisi further asserted that Iran would judge baseless complaints and absurd threats based on reason and human dignity, promising a firm and swift response if necessary. This stance reiterates Iran's commitment to the deal's framework while simultaneously signaling a strong response to perceived U.S. non-compliance or intimidation. Earlier on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani had stated that no negotiation meetings with the U.S. at any level were scheduled for the upcoming days, underscoring a period of diplomatic pause or tension.
