Isack Hadjar to miss Madrid Grand Prix again as wrist injury sidelines him

Isack Hadjar's return to Formula One will have to wait. The French driver will miss the Madrid Grand Prix next weekend as he continues recovering from a left wrist injury, Red Bull said Monday.

Liam Lawson will again drive alongside Max Verstappen for Red Bull. Yuki Tsunoda will replace Lawson at Racing Bulls. Hadjar has already missed the previous two races after injuring his wrist during training over the summer break.

Red Bull said Hadjar's rehabilitation was progressing well, but he was not yet ready to return to the car. He will attend the Madrid race to support the team.

After driving for the team at Zandvoort and Monza, Liam will continue to drive alongside Max at the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid this weekend.

The 21-year-old, who turns 22 at the end of the month, is eighth in the world championship with 71 points. He finished third at the Monaco Grand Prix and had put together a run of seven consecutive top-six finishes before the injury. Lawson finished seventh at Zandvoort but only 14th at Monza.

Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies had already indicated in Italy that Hadjar was unlikely to be fit for the Spanish race. He stressed the importance of the Frenchman returning only when he was fully recovered.

This decision was made as Isack's rehabilitation continues favorably. Although he is not yet ready to get back behind the wheel, he will be in Madrid to support the team.
