ISI chief meets Bahrain's crown prince, discusses regional and international developments: report

Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik held discussions with Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Sunday, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation and reviewing current regional and international affairs. The meeting took place at the royal residence, Riffa Palace, according to Bahrain’s state news agency.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince, who also commands Bahrain's armed forces, highlighted the "depth of the bilateral relations" between Bahrain and Pakistan. He affirmed that these ties continue to strengthen due to a shared commitment to furthering common goals. The Crown Prince stressed the importance of deepening joint coordination across various sectors to foster mutual prosperity and growth.

Discussions also covered ways to enhance cooperation, the latest regional and international developments, and other matters of mutual interest. The Crown Prince specifically acknowledged Pakistan's "critical role, alongside its allies, in strengthening the foundations of regional security and stability."

Lt Gen Malik expressed gratitude for the Crown Prince's commitment to developing bilateral ties and conveyed wishes for Bahrain's continued progress and prosperity. Several Bahraini officials, including ministers and advisors, attended the meeting. This engagement follows recent high-level interactions, including a phone call between Bahrain's Foreign Minister and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and a prior meeting between Bahrain's National Guard commander and Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces in June.
