Islamists as role models, plans to murder: Police find communities radicalizing teenagers

Security forces in the Czech Republic are sounding the alarm over the growing influence of online radical communities. These groups are reportedly grooming young people, particularly teenagers, by exposing them to ideologies centered on violence and religious extremism.

Authorities have observed these communities actively planning attacks and fostering radical beliefs among individuals under the age of eighteen. Alarmingly, some children as young as fifteen are becoming targets for this radicalization process. This trend represents a new and concerning development for law enforcement.

For the first time last year, Czech police and intelligence services recorded a significant increase in the presence and activity of these online groups on social media. This surge highlights the evolving tactics of extremist recruiters and the vulnerability of young people to such influences in the digital space.
