Israel says overnight strikes targeted Hezbollah operatives and weapons depots

Israel said it launched overnight strikes against Hezbollah operatives and weapons infrastructure after an explosive drone allegedly launched by the group caused no casualties.

The Israeli army said the strikes hit targets in south Lebanon and a town in the West Bekaa. Lebanon’s health ministry reported three people killed and 23 wounded.

In a statement, the army said its air force targeted weapons depots intended for Hezbollah operatives planning and directing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. It described the strikes as necessary to remove an immediate threat.

As part of the strikes, Air Force aircraft targeted weapons depots intended for use by the organization's operatives to plan and direct terrorist plots targeting IDF forces in the security zone and the citizens of the State of Israel. These strikes were carried out to eliminate an immediate threat.

The army also said it would not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli citizens or soldiers. It said it would continue eliminating threats while remaining committed to the ceasefire agreement.

Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the drone incident and has not commented on the Israeli strikes.
