Israel Targets Gaza Arms Dealers, Expands Strikes on Weapons Production Sites

Israel is escalating its military operations in Gaza, focusing on individuals and locations involved in the manufacturing and trading of weapons. These intensified strikes are part of Israel's broader strategy to demilitarize the Gaza Strip and assert ongoing security control over the territory.

Recent actions include targeted assassinations aimed at disrupting arms supply chains. On Monday, two Palestinians traveling from Gaza City were killed in an Israeli strike. Field sources identified the deceased as Samir Abu Dalal and Mohammed Darwish, who allegedly had long-standing connections with Palestinian factions involved in arms procurement. These strikes follow earlier operations in July where Israeli forces reportedly targeted three arms dealers, including one directly linked to Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.

The Israeli military has stated its commitment to pursuing operatives involved in weapons manufacturing with the same intensity as those who participated in the Oct. 7 attacks or held hostages. Strikes have also extended to workshops identified as arms manufacturing sites and homes where weapons were allegedly stored. The military has claimed to have killed numerous individuals involved in trading various weapons, from Kalashnikov rifles to anti-tank missiles and sniper rifles, during the ongoing conflict.

These military actions are occurring amidst ongoing diplomatic efforts to consolidate a "roadmap" agreement with Hamas. Meanwhile, sporadic fighting continues, with recent incidents including an Israeli strike on a residential apartment and Israeli military vehicles firing on Palestinians in Khan Younis. Drones have also been observed dropping bombs in eastern Gaza City.
