Israel has reportedly shared intelligence with the United States concerning a new Iranian plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to the Wall Street Journal. This development emerges amidst escalating tensions between the US and Iran, marked by recent exchanges of attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

While Israel's embassy in Washington declined to comment, Iran's UN mission did not immediately respond to requests for information. The White House, however, referred the outlet to comments made by Trump himself. Following the funeral cortege of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei in Mashhad, crowds chanted slogans demanding revenge against Trump. "I swear by the blood of the Supreme Leader, Trump, we will kill you!" some shouted, with women holding placards bearing similar messages. The atmosphere was charged with anti-American sentiment, echoing the revolutionary slogan "Death to America."

In parallel, President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone to coordinate their responses to the ongoing conflict with Iran. Trump briefed Netanyahu on US actions in the Gulf and strikes against Iranian assets. Netanyahu, in turn, reportedly advised Trump against approving a F-35 deal with Turkey.
