Israeli crime boss Yossi Mosli placed under house arrest without charges in unusual legal move

An unusual legal measure has seen Israeli crime boss Yossi Mosli placed under house arrest without charges. The Tel Aviv District Court imposed the restrictions until the eve of Yom Kippur, a move that allows authorities to limit suspected organized-crime figures even without a formal indictment.

Judge Shai Yaniv also prohibited Mosli from using messaging applications. He will initially stay at his father's home in Tel Aviv's Kfar Shalem neighborhood until Sunday, after which he must move to his own residence in Savyon. Police identify Mosli as the leader of the Mosli crime organization.

The court's action comes amid an active and violent conflict between the Mosli and Jarushi crime organizations, according to police. The legal measure highlights the authorities' efforts to manage and potentially disrupt organized crime activities through pre-emptive restrictions.
