Israeli humanitarian team arrives in Venezuela following devastating earthquake

A preliminary team from Israel's humanitarian assistance delegation arrived in Venezuela on Wednesday to support the country's earthquake recovery efforts, according to a joint announcement by the IDF and the Foreign Ministry. The initial group, led by Israeli Ambassador-designate to Mexico Yoed Magen and IDF Home Front Command Chief of Staff Brig.-Gen. Elad Edri, met with local officials and first responders shortly after their arrival.

The remainder of the delegation is scheduled to join the preliminary team in the coming days. Following these preparations, the full delegation will assist local teams in their post-earthquake rescue operations. The Israeli team also plans to share its expertise in earthquake and emergency response, drawing on experience from numerous international humanitarian missions.

This deployment follows the arrival of a separate Israeli search-and-rescue delegation last week. That team, consisting of 16 rescue personnel and other professionals, has been working alongside Venezuelan forces to locate survivors and provide humanitarian aid. Brig.-Gen. Elad Edri was seen speaking with local Venezuelan officials, underscoring the collaborative nature of the relief efforts.
