Istana Open House 2026 to feature first-ever outdoor concert on National Day

Singapore's Istana Open House is set to offer a new experience this year, culminating in the nation's first outdoor concert on National Day, July 26. The official residence of the President will be open from 9:30 am to 8 pm, with the concert running from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating to enjoy performances by artists such as Amsden Huang and Shazza, and bands like Fourteen Aces and Soft Boiled Eggs. This inaugural concert is part of a larger celebration of Singapore's identity, incorporating sports, heritage, community engagement, and cultural performances throughout the day. Activities include inclusive sports like boccia and drone football, community fitness challenges, and appearances by former and current Team Singapore athletes. Interactive installations will allow visitors to share their hopes for the nation, including a digital wall for the 60th anniversary of the National Pledge and a time capsule initiative for Singapore's 70th anniversary. Heritage-themed workshops will offer hands-on experiences like making clay food items and creating postcard prints. A new Istana Stamp Rally, developed with Singapore Polytechnic, invites visitors to explore the grounds and collect stamps. Throughout the day, various homegrown and student performers will take the stage. Food and beverage stalls will be available, accepting cashless payments. Entry is free for Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and migrant domestic workers accompanying families; others pay a fee.
