Istanbul Roads to Close Sunday for Yeşilay Bicycle Tour Half Marathon

Istanbul will experience significant traffic disruptions on Sunday, August 23, 2026, due to the Yeşilay Bicycle Tour Half Marathon. The Istanbul Governorship has announced traffic regulations affecting several key routes across the Fatih, Beyoğlu, and Beşiktaş districts.

Road closures will commence at 7:00 AM in the Fatih district and will remain in place until the event concludes. Affected roads in Fatih include Sahil Kennedy Caddesi (between Çatladıkapı and Sirkeci lights), Galata Bridge, Reşadiye Caddesi, Ragıp Gümüşpala Caddesi, Abdülezel Paşa Caddesi, Mürselpaşa Caddesi, and Kadir Has Caddesi. Alternative routes in Fatih include Unkapanı Bridge, Atatürk Boulevard, Millet Caddesi, and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Paşa Caddesi.

In Beyoğlu, closures will impact Meclisi Mebusan Caddesi, Kemeraltı Caddesi, Tershane Caddesi, Necatibey Caddesi, Bedri Karafakioğlu Caddesi, Mebusan Yokuşu, İnebolu Sokak, İnönü Caddesi (between MKE Building and Şehitler Tepesi), and Boğazkesen Caddesi (between Defterdar Yokuşu and Meclisi Mebusan). The Galata Bridge towards Eminönü will also be closed. Alternative routes for Beyoğlu include Dereboyu Caddesi, Asker Ocağı Caddesi, İnönü Caddesi, Evliya Çelebi Caddesi, Refik Saydam Caddesi, Boğazkesen Caddesi, Mete Caddesi, and Tarlabaşı Boulevard.

Beşiktaş will see closures on Dolmabahçe Caddesi and Beşiktaş Caddesi, including turns from the Dolmabahçe Tunnel exit towards Kadırgalar Caddesi, and the area between the tunnel exit and Dolmabahçe Square. Drivers can use Barbaros Boulevard, Çırağan Caddesi, and Kadırgalar Caddesi as alternatives.
