Istanbul's 15 Temmuz Şehitler Bridge to close nightly for documentary filming

Istanbul's iconic 15 Temmuz Şehitler Bridge will experience temporary traffic closures on three consecutive nights in early August. The closures, scheduled for August 3, 4, and 5, will occur between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

The reason for the disruption is the filming of a documentary series titled 'Asırlık Gece' (A Century Night). This project, commissioned by TRT, commemorates the 10th anniversary of the July 15th events. The bridge will serve as a filming location for scenes related to this historical commemoration.

Authorities have announced specific traffic diversions and alternative routes to minimize inconvenience for drivers. Sections of the bridge approach, including the Beylerbeyi Bridge Junction and Kısıklı Caddesi Altunizade Bridge Junction, will be affected. Traffic heading north on the D-100 highway towards the bridge will be rerouted from the Ümraniye-Şile junctions towards Ümraniye-Şile and Altunizade.

Drivers seeking to cross the Bosphorus during these hours are advised to use the Eurasia Tunnel or the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. Other alternatives include the İDO Harem Car Ferry Terminal, and routes via the D-100 highway to the Eurasia Tunnel or the TEM Highway to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
