“It could not have been more perfect”: Go Woo-suk earns a tough save in return as LG wins fifth straight

Go Woo-suk could not have asked for a better return. He recorded a tough save in his comeback game as LG defeated Samsung 4-3 in Seoul for its fifth consecutive victory.

Samsung struck first at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, scoring twice on Ryu Ji-hyeok’s timely hit in the fourth inning. LG responded in the sixth after Samsung starter Peddock passed 100 pitches. Shin Min-jae singled, Austin drew a walk, and Song Chan-eui cut the deficit with a run-scoring single.

Peddock left with one out and runners on first and second, still holding a 2-1 lead. Moon Bo-kyeong then singled against reliever Lee Seung-min, bringing both runners home and tying the game. Samsung changed pitchers again, but pinch-hitter Cheon Seong-ho delivered another single, bringing Moon home for LG’s 4-3 comeback.

LG’s one-run advantage was held through the seventh and eighth innings by Kennedy, setting up Go Woo-suk’s return and the tough save that preserved the win.
