Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has described a 'purification' ceremony held at the venue of his recent rally as a humiliating act. The ceremony was performed by a right-wing group, the 'Shri Ram Sena', at the Ramlila Maidan in Haldwani, two days after Kharge addressed the 'Vijay Shankhnaad' rally there.

Kharge, who is the president of the Indian National Congress, addressed the rally on Saturday. On Monday, members of the Shri Ram Sena conducted a 'shuddhikaran' havan (purification ritual) at the same ground. The group reportedly claimed the ceremony was to purify the ground after it was allegedly 'desecrated' by the rally.

Speaking about the incident, Kharge stated, "It humiliated me." He questioned the motives behind such an action, implying it was politically motivated and intended to provoke. The Congress party has condemned the act, calling it an attempt to incite religious tensions and disrespect a political gathering.
