It’s true: Caregiver who inherited NT$4 million from Chen Sung-yung spent it all within a year

Yule, the Indonesian caregiver who received the entire NT$4 million inheritance left by late actor Chen Sung-yung, has acknowledged that she spent it all within a year.

Chen, who died of kidney failure in 2021, had been cared for by Yule during his later years. Their relationship grew close, and he left her the inheritance, treating her like a daughter. Yule then returned to her hometown in Indonesia.

During a recent livestream, Yule said she had received about 1 billion Indonesian rupiah, a huge sum by local standards. She had planned to retire. She first spent 400 million rupiah on an existing house, then bought another property outright after a friend introduced it to her, hoping to earn rental income.

She later married, but poor management of her assets left her heavily in debt. She eventually sold the properties to repay what she owed. Now, after spending the inheritance, she has returned to Taiwan and resumed work as a caregiver.
