Italika 300Z: Mexico's first Italika motorcycle manufactured domestically

Italika, a brand synonymous with accessible transportation in Mexico since its founding in 2004, is embarking on a new era with the introduction of the Italika 300Z. This model represents a significant milestone as it is the first Italika motorcycle to be manufactured on a platform developed and produced in Mexico.

Dirk Biehler, General Director of GS Motos Global, emphasized that the 300Z project extends beyond launching a new naked motorcycle. It is a strategic step to gradually enhance Italika's own development capabilities, foster intellectual property, and lessen its reliance on platforms originating from China.

Italika's connection with Mexican manufacturing is long-standing. Its Toluca plant, Ensamblika, inaugurated in 2007, has produced millions of motorcycles. In 2023 alone, approximately 1.3 million units were assembled there, with a daily capacity of up to 4,500 units. Ensamblika also produces motorcycles for other brands, including Hero, Benelli, and Morbidelli.

Globally, Italika has established itself as a major force, ranking as the eighth largest motorcycle brand worldwide by volume in the first half of 2026, according to MotorcyclesData. This is particularly noteworthy as about 96% of Italika's sales remain within Mexico, solidifying its dominant position in its home market.

This point is important because the project goes beyond presenting a new naked. The intention of Italika is to gradually increase its own development, generate more intellectual property and reduce its dependence on platforms from China. The 300Z represents one of the first steps within that strategy.
