ITSE Governing Board modifies timeline for selecting educational manager

The Governing Board of Panama's Specialized Technical Institute (ITSE) has adjusted the timeline for selecting its new educational manager, extending the evaluation period for the five finalists. This modification aims to ensure a thorough and transparent selection process.

According to the updated schedule, the submission of evaluation reports for the five finalists will take place between July 17 and July 31, 2026. Subsequently, the presentation of essays, evaluation, and final selection are slated for August 3 to August 7, 2026. The Governing Board adopted this revised calendar through Resolution ITSE-CD-015-2026 on July 17, 2026, in accordance with Law 71 of November 8, 2017.

The call for applications for the position was initially announced on May 18, 2026, following the resignation of Milena Gómez in January 2026. The process began with 10 applicants who met the initial requirements. A subsequent evaluation phase narrowed the field down to the five current contenders. Since Gómez's departure, Suzanne Sáez has been serving as the interim educational manager.

The ITSE has reiterated its commitment to a selection process that is transparent, objective, and adheres to current legal frameworks. The institute seeks to ensure a responsible evaluation that identifies the most suitable professional to lead the Educational Management for the 2025-2029 term. This meticulous approach underscores the importance the institution places on leadership selection.
