Ivanušec could return as Dinamo Zagreb weighs moves for Almena and Kotarski

Dinamo Zagreb left Pula with a point rather than another damaging defeat, but the performance offered little reason for celebration. The club twice recovered against Istra, while goalkeeper Ivan Nevistić strengthened the impression that he can be relied upon.

The draw did not produce the same upheaval as Dinamo’s loss to Istra in Pula a year earlier. That defeat prompted the players to confront one another in the dressing room, a moment followed by a strong run through the Croatian league and a domestic double. This time, the point keeps Dinamo in a good position, especially with a match in hand, even though the team did not play well.

The transfer market now provides another source of uncertainty. Dinamo missed out on the Champions League and would like to sell a player to replenish its budget. Sergi Dominguez is considered the closest to leaving, although his performance in the first half against Istra may have weakened the interest of potential buyers. Coach Mario Kovačević replaced him at halftime.

Russian signing Kirill Kravtsov made his debut in Pula and appeared capable of becoming an important player this season, although the assessment remains cautious. The club is also reportedly close to bringing in Dominik Kotarski on a one-year loan. Iker Almena, formerly of Hajduk and now in Saudi Arabia, could arrive on loan with an option to buy.

The most notable possible return involves Luka Ivanušec. The former Dinamo midfielder is negotiating a mutual termination with Feyenoord. If the agreement is completed, he could move to Zagreb as a free agent. The transfer window in Europe’s major leagues is nearing its end, while the Croatian league still has time for further arrivals.
