Jakarta Police Chief: Protecting Jakarta Means Protecting Indonesia

Jakarta's Police Chief has called for a collective effort to safeguard the capital city, emphasizing its critical role in the nation's well-being. "Protecting Jakarta means protecting Indonesia," stated Inspector General Pol. Asep Edi Suheri during the 'Jaga Jakarta untuk Indonesia' (Protect Jakarta for Indonesia) National Rally held at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Saturday.

The rally, initiated by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, drew approximately 11,000 participants from various sectors, including military and police personnel, community organizations, online motorcycle taxi drivers, and laborers. The event was framed as a crucial moment to foster unity and ensure Jakarta remains a secure, comfortable, and conducive environment for all.

Inspector General Suheri highlighted the rally's purpose: to build a united front comprising government elements, the military, police, and all societal strata. This collaboration, he explained, is essential for maintaining security, order, and national unity. He urged participants to embody the spirit of mutual cooperation and care, originating from Jakarta, to foster a peaceful and stable situation.

Concluding his remarks, the Police Chief reiterated his call to action, encouraging all parties to actively participate in protecting Jakarta for the sake of Indonesia. The attendees responded with a resounding affirmation: "For Indonesia!"
