Jakov Gojun's farewell match as Zagreb eyes Croatian handball title

RK Zagreb stands on the brink of securing the Croatian handball championship title, with their upcoming match against Sesvete likely to be the decider. The team currently holds a commanding lead, needing just two more points to clinch the championship, having already secured four points against Sesvete in previous encounters.

Coach Boris Dvoršek conveyed strong confidence in his team's prospects, emphasizing their readiness and motivation to confirm their championship status. He noted the excellent atmosphere within the squad, with players well-prepared and eager to demonstrate their quality. Dvoršek highlighted the team's experience in playing crucial final matches, a factor that significantly eases his coaching responsibilities.

"Da se ne lažemo, danas smo favoriti protiv Sesveta i imamo priliku potvrditi titulu nacionalnih prvaka," Dvoršek stated. "Atmosfera u ekipi je odlična, svi su dobro raspoloženi, spremni i motivirani da još jednom pokažu svoju kvalitetu." He added that the team has been diligently preparing with training sessions and video analysis of their opponent.

While acknowledging Sesvete as a young and developing team with a good coach, Dvoršek stressed that Zagreb must justify their favorite status on the court. The team is facing some injury setbacks, with Luka Lovre Klarica, Filip Glavaš, and Toni Matošević unavailable. However, Zagreb boasts a full roster of 18 healthy and motivated players, and the coach is confident that those selected will give their utmost to secure a victory and end the season on a high note.
