JAMB registrar Oloyede bows out, Aina takes over Friday

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Nigeria is set to usher in a new leadership era on Friday, July 31, 2026, with the formal handover from outgoing Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede to his successor, Professor Segun Aina.

Professor Oloyede's tenure concludes on July 31, marking the end of his service. The official ceremony, scheduled for 10 AM, will be live-streamed on JAMB's official social media channels, inviting the public to witness this significant transition.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Professor Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, to lead the examination body. Aina brings extensive expertise in digital infrastructure, national examination systems, and institutional reforms, with over 15 years of experience advising governments on digital transformation. He holds advanced degrees from UK universities and has consulted for other examination bodies.

The Presidency highlighted that Aina is among Nigeria's youngest computer engineering professors and is expected to become JAMB's youngest registrar. President Tinubu expressed confidence in Aina's ability to build upon the reforms and achievements of Oloyede's administration and further enhance JAMB's operations.
