Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture to Offer Hotel Stays for Earthquake Survivors Amid 40°C Heat Forecast

Kumamoto Prefecture is preparing to open hotels and inns for "secondary evacuation" for survivors of the Reiwa 8 earthquake, as temperatures are forecast to reach a scorching 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) on August 3rd. This measure aims to provide relief for the more than 8,400 people currently residing in evacuation shelters.
