Japanese cult metal band Barbatos to perform in Estonia for the first time

The cult Japanese metal band Barbatos is set to make its debut performance in Estonia at The Krypt Spooky Bar & Stage in Tallinn. Active since 1996, the Tokyo-based group is fronted by Yasuyuki Suzuki, a notable figure in Japan's black and thrash metal scene and a member of the band Abigail.

Barbatos's musical style is a potent fusion of black and thrash metal, infused with a punk attitude and the raw energy of old-school rock 'n' roll. Their sound evokes the brutality of early black metal alongside the driving force reminiscent of Motörhead. The band's history is closely intertwined with Abigail, who previously performed for an Estonian audience in September 2025.

Opening the evening will be Beatrix, a band formed near Tampere, Finland, in 2019. They play fast and aggressive black/thrash metal with strong old-school influences. Beatrix and Abigail share a direct musical link, having released a joint split album in 2023, indicating a curated lineup where the bands' musical worlds align well with Barbatos'. The concert venue, The Krypt, is an independent club and bar known for its dark, horror-themed atmosphere, hosting numerous local and international artists and alternative cultural events.
