Javier Milei to meet Ecuador's Noboa, attend Colombia inauguration

Argentine President Javier Milei departed Wednesday night for a nearly 72-hour international tour, commencing with a visit to Ecuador and followed by a trip to Colombia. His absence from the country coincides with the Senate's debate on the inviolability of private property law.

In Ecuador, Milei is slated to meet his counterpart Daniel Noboa on Thursday. The agenda includes a floral offering at the Plaza de la Independencia, a bilateral meeting at the presidential palace, and the signing of agreements between Argentina and Ecuador. The Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno will accompany him. Later that day, Milei will attend the opening of an Economic Forum before departing for Colombia.

Upon arriving in Colombia early Friday, Milei's schedule includes a bilateral meeting with Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar. He will also hold another bilateral meeting with Abelardo de la Espriella, who is set to be inaugurated as Colombia's new president. Milei has expressed political affinity with De la Espriella, having congratulated him on his election victory.

The Argentine president's foreign engagement will culminate with his attendance at De la Espriella's presidential inauguration ceremony on Friday afternoon. Milei is expected to begin his return flight to Buenos Aires early Saturday morning.
