Jeremy Clarkson reveals aggressive cancer diagnosis: 'There is hope'

Jeremy Clarkson, the former host of "Top Gear" and "The Grand Tour," has disclosed his battle with an aggressive form of cancer. The 66-year-old revealed the diagnosis in the latest episodes of his show "Clarkson's Farm," which are now available on Amazon Prime Video.

Clarkson admitted to his co-stars Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland that he had been hiding the diagnosis for months. The cancer was detected in May of last year during a medical examination, followed by a biopsy that confirmed the illness. "Yes, I have cancer," Clarkson stated during a discussion about harvest plans on his farm. He described it as an aggressive form but thankfully caught in its very early stages.

The television personality had hoped to complete the harvest before beginning treatment, but his surgery was scheduled right in the middle of the crucial season. Due to the procedure and recovery, he will be unable to work on the farm for some time, with his partner Lisa Hogan stepping in to handle some of his duties. His long-time collaborator Kaleb Cooper expressed his full support, visibly emotional.

Clarkson stressed the critical importance of regular medical check-ups. "If I hadn't gone for a check-up and the problem hadn't been discovered in time, this could easily have been my last harvest. There is hope precisely because the cancer was discovered early," he urged. The drama continued post-surgery, with viewers seeing Clarkson rushed back to the hospital due to complications during treatment. From his hospital bed, he addressed the audience, saying, "If all this is successful, we'll see you in season six. If not, we won't. Take care."

This health scare follows previous issues; in 2024, Clarkson was hospitalized for heart problems after doctors discovered a completely blocked artery, admitting at the time he was "very close to death." Despite these challenges, a sixth season of "Clarkson's Farm" has been confirmed, though filming might be temporarily delayed to allow the popular presenter to focus on his recovery.
