Jewelry store robber searched online for 'how to rob' instructions

An armed robbery at a jewelry store in Ankara's Etimesgut district has led to the swift apprehension of a suspect, who allegedly researched his crime online beforehand.

The incident occurred when an individual entered the store, brandished a weapon, and demanded valuables. The suspect made off with bracelets estimated to be worth around 200,000 Turkish lira. Following the robbery, police were alerted and immediately launched an investigation.

Security camera footage allowed authorities to identify the suspect, who was tracked to his residence. Police conducted a raid on the home and arrested the individual approximately two hours after the crime. During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect had conducted online searches for "how to rob a jewelry store," indicating premeditation.

Authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the incident, confirming that the suspect acted alone. The recovery of the stolen goods and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
