Jinan County selected for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's regional support project, securing 3 billion won

Jinan County has secured 3 billion won in national funding after being selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "Regionally Customized Support Project" for 2026. The county participated in the competition with the Korea Water Resources Corporation.

The selected project, "Jinan Smart WE (Water & Energy) Station Creation," plans to develop a multi-purpose living complex utilizing idle state-owned land. This complex will integrate accommodation, living services, and smart mobility options. It aims to enhance transportation convenience by linking demand-responsive transit (DRT) services with shared electric vehicle and electric bicycle programs. DRT operates as a public transportation system that adjusts routes and schedules based on real-time passenger requests or reservations.

The project's overarching goal is to establish a new regional development model that expands lodging-type tourism infrastructure, thereby increasing local consumption and revitalizing the regional economy. This initiative will be pursued as a collaborative model involving the Korea Water Resources Corporation and private specialized companies. Jinan County intends to provide convenient transportation services and a new tourism environment through this project, fostering a sustainable regional revitalization model centered around the Smart WE Station.
