Jokowi Confident PSI Will Enter Parliament in 2029 Elections

Indonesian President Joko Widodo, widely known as Jokowi, has voiced his strong belief that the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) will successfully secure seats in parliament during the 2029 general elections. He shared this conviction while attending a regional coordination meeting for PSI in Tulang Bawang, Lampung.

I am sure that if we do this together, from the central board (DPP) down to the regional levels (DPW, DPD, DPC, and DPRt), I am sure that in 2029, PSI, if the issue is entering parliament, I dare to confirm that it will definitely enter parliament.

He added that while entry is certain, the number of seats will depend on ambitious targets and hard work from all party members.

But the number of seats is what we desire, we must have a big target. A high target, therefore all must work hard.

Jokowi commended PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and the party's leadership for organizing the meeting in Lampung. He stressed the critical role of a robust party structure, comparing it to a powerful engine capable of driving the party forward. He urged party members to ensure the party's organizational machinery remains active and engaged, warning against complacency.

Structure is very important for an organization. If we have a political engine down to the village level, what does that mean? It means we have an engine with a large CC. It means we have a party structure that has great strength. This is what I need to appreciate.

Furthermore, Jokowi advised PSI cadres to actively participate in the community, citing examples such as attending funerals, offering congratulations at weddings, and assisting neighbors in need. He believes such genuine actions and community engagement are essential for building a positive image and reputation for PSI among the public. Jokowi is scheduled to participate in several other PSI-related events and meet with local community figures and entrepreneurs during his three-day visit to Lampung.

For example, if a neighbor dies, come to the funeral. If a neighbor gets married, come and offer congratulations. If there is a distant relative who is sick, take them to the hospital if necessary. Actions like that will bring a good name to PSI.
