Jokowi Wears Balinese Traditional Attire at 81st Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony

President Joko Widodo marked Indonesia's 81st Independence Day by attending the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, donning traditional Balinese attire. The President arrived shortly before 9:30 AM on Monday, accompanied by his wife, Iriana Joko Widodo.

His youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, who also serves as the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), was present with his wife, Erina Gudono. The President's arrival was greeted by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, and the Deputy Minister of State Secretary, Juri Ardiantoro.

Notable attendees included two former Vice Presidents who served under Widodo: Jusuf Kalla (10th and 12th Vice President) and K.H. Ma'ruf Amin (13th Vice President). The three leaders walked together towards the main ceremony venue, adding to the distinguished gathering of national figures for the country's independence commemoration.
