Team Visma's sports director, Marc Reef, expressed full support for Vingegaard's decision. "After a busy period with many race days and a collarbone fracture, it is best for him to focus on 2027," Reef commented. Despite the disappointing end to his Tour de France campaign, Vingegaard can look back on a successful 2026 season, which included a major victory in the Giro d'Italia.
