Jordan Henderson joins Chelsea on two-year deal

England midfielder Jordan Henderson has signed a two-year deal with Chelsea, marking his return to the Premier League.

The 36-year-old joins the London club after his contract with Brentford was mutually terminated. Henderson brings a wealth of experience, having captained Liverpool to their Premier League title in 2019-20 and also secured the Champions League during his tenure at Anfield. His trophy cabinet also includes the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Henderson's recent career path included a move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq in 2023, followed by a stint with Dutch side Ajax in January 2024. He then returned to the Premier League with Brentford last summer, making 32 top-flight appearances in the 2025-26 season.
