Jos University Teaching Hospital psychiatric facility stretched as mental health cases rise

Rising demand for mental health care is stretching the psychiatric facility at Jos University Teaching Hospital, according to a Premium Times investigation.

The report examined the hospital’s capacity through interviews with patients’ relatives, healthcare workers, hospital management and mental health experts. It found that the increase in psychiatric cases is placing growing pressure on the facility.
