'Joseon's Lover' Bae Ki-sung: 'Tinnitus for 5 Months... Can't Hear from Right Ear'

South Korean singer Bae Ki-sung has revealed the severity of his hearing loss on the TV Chosun program "The Lovers of Joseon." During a recent recording for the show's 5th-anniversary special, Bae disclosed that he has been suffering from severe tinnitus for the past five months, rendering him completely unable to hear from his right ear.

Bae Ki-sung went on to reflect on the emotional weight of his situation, contemplating the significance of the current performance. "This stage today, in a way, might be my last stage," he said, "in front of the seniors I've truly, truly loved," adding that he hoped such a scenario would not come to pass.

In a previous broadcast, Bae had shared that doctors warned him about the possibility of a disability diagnosis if his hearing loss persisted for six months. He and his wife, Lee Eun-bi, have reportedly been focusing on recovery through various traditional health foods, including frog and centipede dishes, which garnered attention. Bae Ki-sung, who first gained recognition in 1993, later joined the group Can in 2000, achieving popularity with hits like 'Heavenly Love' and 'Spring Day in My Life.'
