Journalists reminded of equal treatment in Election reporting

Equal treatment of all candidates took center stage on the third day of Papua New Guinea’s Ethical Election Integrity Workshop, where journalists were urged to apply impartiality and fairness in their election coverage.

The workshop emphasized that reporters should give candidates equitable treatment as they cover the election. The guidance placed fairness at the center of journalists’ responsibilities during the campaign and reporting process.

The session formed part of the Ethical Election Integrity Workshop, which is addressing standards for election coverage. Its focus on equal treatment presented impartial reporting as a key requirement for maintaining integrity in election journalism.
