Julius Berger’s Luminary Soirée 2026 to examine Lagos’s development potential

Julius Berger Nigeria will bring senior figures from government, business, engineering, finance and development to Lagos on September 9 for its 2026 Luminary Soirée.

Themed “The Lagos Proposition | Unlocking Value in a City in Transformation,” the event will focus on how the city’s rapid expansion is changing investment patterns and creating new development opportunities beyond its traditional growth corridors.

Discussions will cover the infrastructure and capital needed to support sustainable growth, as well as whether the construction and engineering sector can deliver projects at the scale, speed and quality demanded by the market. The programme will include opening remarks from Julius Berger Managing Director Peer Lubasch and a keynote address by a senior representative of the Lagos State Government.

A panel moderated by Arise News anchor Ayo Mairo-Ese will bring together practitioners in master planning, consulting engineering and institutional real estate. Topics will range from land strategy and urban planning to engineering execution and the delivery of sustainable, income-generating assets.

The forum will also examine emerging premium districts beyond Lagos’s established Island and Mainland markets, cooperation between government and private developers, the needs of underserved middle-income communities and the capabilities required to deliver quality projects. Filipe Lopes of Julius Berger’s Strategic Business Development Unit said Lagos is evolving rapidly and that infrastructure and engineering capacity must develop alongside it.
