Jung Hoo Lee Goes Hitless Day After 9th Homer

Jung Hoo Lee of the San Francisco Giants failed to record a hit on August 12th, Korean time, a day after hitting his ninth home run of the season. Lee started as the right fielder and leadoff hitter in the game against the Houston Astros at Oracle Park in San Francisco.

He went 0-for-4 at the plate, unable to continue the momentum from his multi-hit performance the day before. This marked his first hitless game in two contests, causing his season batting average to dip from .300 to .297 (124 hits in 418 at-bats).

In his first at-bat in the bottom of the first inning, Lee grounded out to shortstop against Astros right-handed starter Hunter Brown. Later, in the third inning, he hit a fly ball to center field. In the fourth inning, with the Giants leading 2-1 and two runners on base, he grounded out to shortstop again, missing a key opportunity. His final at-bat came in the sixth inning with the Giants ahead 4-1 and a runner on third, but he could not capitalize.
